AN INVITATION TO INVEST IN PEACE

Dear Friends of Peace,

The Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, a beacon of hope and healing in the heart of our community, is embarking on a transformative journey with its $25 million Campaign for Peace.

Since 1994, the Peace Institute has been a leader in homicide response, violence prevention, and peacbuilding, filling a gap in much-needed local services while developing an innovative, effective model that leads the field of Community Violence Intervention. We are grateful for every bit of our progress, yet violence continues to plague our city and our nation, and we know we can do more.

Research, data and our own lived experiences tell us: gun control, jobs programs, and policing are not enough to break long-entrenched cycles of violence. To create and sustain an environment where all families can live in peace and all people are valued, we must invest in healing that will interrupt cycles of violence and create new cycles of peace.

The need to scale our approach has never been greater, and we are launching our Campaign for Peace to meet this crucial moment. With your support, we will expand our programs and services and build a new Center of Healing, Teaching and Learning in one of Boston’s most impacted neighborhoods. More than just a building, The Center will transform a vacant lot into a hub for healing and education, driving positive change in our community, city and commonwealth. And it will be a model for cities nationwide.

This ambitious campaign is more than a fundraising initiative; it is a call to action for all who share our vision for peace. We invite you to join us in this Campaign. Invest in Peace – become a “Peacevestor” – and together, let’s continue to build a world where true peace can be achieved.

In peace and service,
