Empowering Generation Peace through art, healing, teaching and learning
"We must struggle together to create the schools we are taught to believe are impossible, schools built on love, joy, justice, and antiracism."
As our nation grapples with an alarming surge of censorship towards teachers, curricula and public education institutions that seek to explore themes of injustice, this quote by Dr. Bettina Love serves as a poignant reminder that we must be the change.
Our Generation Peace Teaching Artist-in-Residence, Ruth Henry, brings light to this issue with her piece Free to Learn, on view in Fenway from August – October as part of the Be The Change public arts movement.
Embarking on this venture is the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute (LDBPI), a local nonprofit in Dorchester that is committed to serving families impacted by murder.
- Committed to teaching the value of peace in order to interrupt cycles of retaliatory violence.
- Building out public art installations that center around justice opportunities for Generation Peace—the next generation.
- Extending Generation Peace's reach by providing supplementary curriculum and instruction to homeschooling families within our network
We invite you to make a contribution that will enable the expansion of programming dedicated to empowering Generation Peace.
Your investment will allow the next generation freedom to learn, teach, heal and grow in ways that cultivate cycles of peace for future generations.
